Why people look for an alternative
Adobe Acrobat Pro is a great tool, but a paid subscription is overkill if you just want to delete one or two pages from a PDF. The same task takes under a minute in a browser, and the result is identical.
The trick is using the right tool. PDF editors that target every possible feature can be slow and overwhelming. For removing pages, you want a lightweight viewer that lets you see the pages and click delete.
The simple browser workflow
Open the Edit PDF Pages tool and drop your file in. You will see thumbnails of every page. Click on the pages you want to remove and hit the delete option. Then export the cleaned up file.
That is the entire workflow. No account, no install, no upload to a stranger's server. Everything happens inside your browser tab.
Step by step
- Open the Edit PDF Pages tool.
- Drop your PDF into the upload area or click to choose it from your device.
- Wait for the page thumbnails to load (a couple of seconds for most files).
- Click on a page thumbnail to select it. Selected pages are highlighted.
- Use the delete option to remove the selected pages.
- Review the remaining page order in the preview.
- Click Export and download the new PDF.
The original file on your device is not touched. The new file contains only the pages you kept.
A common gotcha
If you delete the wrong page, do not panic. The tool works on a copy of your PDF in memory. Reload the page in your browser and start over. As long as you have not exported and saved over the original, no damage is done.
If you have already exported the wrong version, you can rebuild from the original by reloading it and starting fresh.
When to use Split PDF instead
If you want to keep only a small number of pages and delete most of the rest, it is faster to use the Split PDF tool and extract just the pages you want. Deleting 35 pages one by one is tedious. Extracting 5 pages is one operation.
A rule of thumb: if you are removing less than half the pages, use Edit PDF Pages. If you are removing more than half, use Split PDF instead.
Combining the result with other PDFs
After removing pages, you may want to merge the cleaned file with other documents. Use the Merge PDF tool for that. You can reorder the merged files before exporting if needed.
What this does not do
It does not let you edit the text on a page. For that you need a true PDF editor or to convert the PDF to Word first using PDF to Word.
It also does not work on protected PDFs. Run the Unlock PDF tool first if your file is password protected and you have the password.
Common questions
Is this really free, with no watermark on the output?
Yes. There are no watermarks, no signup, and no premium tier. The site runs on ads.
Will the file size go down after removing pages?
Yes. Removed pages are not just hidden, they are excluded from the output. Removing 5 pages from a 20 page PDF typically reduces file size by around a quarter.
Can I remove pages from a scanned PDF the same way?
Yes. The tool does not care whether pages contain scanned images or selectable text. It works on the page level.
What if my PDF has hundreds of pages?
It still works, but thumbnails will take longer to render. For very large documents (300+ pages), Split PDF is often faster if you only need a specific range.
